Coloring with Thread Book Showcase

Hello friends, I am so excited to introduce Tula Pink's new book, Coloring with Thread .

photo by: The Quilting Company Coloring with Thread has 17 designs based on her best-selling fabric collections. Each project features a suggested color guide and illustrated tutorials for more than twenty embroidery stitches. If you are new to hand embroidery, this book will guide you kindly with tips and design inspirations. You can hand embroidery and finish as a hoop art or adapt on other projects just like me.

Stitched by Annette Millard , photo by the Quilting Company It was hard but happy job to choose one design out of so many options. I have changed my mind several times and finally picked Tula's Floral Spray design. I recreated with my own twist, Sewing Illustration table topper!

I wanted to make something practical that I can keep an eye on every day instead of storing in a box with my other projects. A pillow? An apron? A big bag?......I spent more time trying to decide how to finish rather than actual sewing if you'll believe. ;) How you do you like my final decision? It's very useful indeed! I enlarged the pattern by 200%. If you have a copy machine at home, enlarge the parts and tape them together to complete pattern.

Then I picked the coordinating colors from my Liberty fabric collection. You can find variety of Liberty fabric selections on Ava and Neve .

I love how it came out and it brightens my dining table!

Claire wants it for her doll mat. She's my excuse for non stop sewing. :)
