Don’t you agree with me? When I bump into someone’s sewing work, my first impression is ‘if I had the same fabrics……’.
And one day, I told myself let’s not compare what I don’t have instead, I tried to pull all the possibility that I could do with what I have at the moment.
I think that was the beginning of my sewing illustration.
Today I want to share how to create illustrated fabric with plain white linen. I hope it’s helpful to someone who had same thought with me.
1.Draw a simple house, a tree, a car and a cloud with Sharpie or erasable pen.
2.Sew the sketch with sewing machine. And mix acrylic paint and water 5:5 and color the fabric.
3.Make a simple drawstring pouch and insert the string. For the ending, make a yoyo and fill in batting. Pull the thread and insert the end of string in in.
4.Hand stitch multiple times to secure.
If you are not familiar with free hand machine embroidery, hand stitch would work beautifully.
I Just want to show you that anything you imagine, you can draw on the fabric with a bit of sewing, painting and love. 🙂
